LISTEN to the YouTube video of a BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED & RARE Composite Style (French, Egyptian, Neo-Classic combined) green onyx columned crystal regulator clockwork made by FRENCH Clockmaker Samual Marti.French Samual Marti 8-day wind two train suspension spring movement (unrestored & in original condition) inserted into a crystal regulator clock case containing clear beveled glass on all 4 sides (glass chip on upper right corner of front door); 6 green translucent onyx columns adorned with gilded capitols & bases in the Egyptian Style; Egyptian Style gilded bronze friezes wrap top & bottom on both sides; gilded cartouche below front door; bronze cast chariot topper (bronze work unsigned); case rests upon 6 round elaborate gilded feet; beveled glass on all sides; all gilded decorations assuming Egyptian & Neo-Classical influences. Highest quality enameled 3 5/8” diameter faceplate contains Roman numerals; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; adjustable gilded compensating pendulum; front hinged gilded brass door frame fitted with beveled glass closes against the gilded door frame surround; the backside contains a second rear door also with clear beveled glass set into a gilded door frame; evidence of previous repairs to the right side of the onyx stone base shown in photos; the ceiling mounted steel coil gong resonates beautifully within the clock cavity allowing the sound to softly escape the clock case; both movement & gong assemblies are mounted securely to case.
