A smart and collectable Smiths De Luxe, especially desirable with the black dial and original aged character. The watch is fully working. Smiths De Luxe 17 Jewels Vintage Men’s Watch Black Dial Working 1950sAttractive and unusual Smiths De Luxe men’s vintage wristwatch with original black dial, gold-tone case and red-tipped centre seconds hand. A lovely collector’s piece from the classic Smiths English watch era. The movement is marked Made in England, 17 Jewels and 27.CS, with serial number C292504, which is consistent with mid-1950s production. The watch is fully working. It winds, sets and runs correctly, and is currently keeping good time. Please note, when winding the watch, a slight occasional click can sometimes be felt through the crown. This has not affected the operation of the watch. Case measures approximately 33.5mm including crown. The watch appears original, including the dial, hands and crown. The black dial has natural age-related patina, giving it a very attractive vintage look. The gold plating is in fair vintage condition with age-related wear, but still presents well on the wrist.
