Highly Ornate Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze (Ormolu) Mantle Clock Circa 1835-1845 The dial text read " Le Roy & Fils, Horlogers du Roi, a Paris" meaning "Clockmakers of the King" The markers stamp on the back matches exactly. The serial number 3608 indicates early to mid century production. The medal roundel at lower center "Medaille" was awarded to premier clockmakers for exceptional mechanical quality. This is a high Graze, 8 day brass French movement featuring a brocot-style escapement or specialized platform balance. All pieces are there minus the screws. The gentleman working on it has passed and before pics were not taken, so it's a beautiful puzzle of amazing potential. thank you for looking.
